21st September is Peace Day.
What does this mean? Sound's like it has the potential to be some wishy-washy hippy stuff, right?!
WRONG!

OK so despite being an overall pretty positive person, at times I find myself depressed by the violence in the world and can't help but fall into a pit of despair at the thought of it. Well how's this? 21st September, every year, is a GLOBAL CEASE FIRE! Who knew? I know I didn't! What an amazing thing. This is the result of lots of people endlessly campaigning for lots of years and what an achievement!

Two Spot are performing as part of Peace Jam (as you may already know) in celebration of this day. Many artists are getting together and broadcasting the results via the internet [Watch Here]

If the whole world can lay down their weapons for a day, the sky is the limit. If the world's people can use this day to let peace overcome all the hate in their hearts, we are moving towards a better planet for everybody.

To quote peaceinourlifetime.org, "PEACE will bring not only an END to WAR, but to POVERTY and HUNGER too. Peace in our hearts will find us naturally taking care of our ENVIROMENT, NATURE, all our planet's creatures along with the inhabitants we share this gorgeous earth with".

Enough out of me, it's over to you.

Top o' da mornin to ya!

Top o' da mornin to ya!

It's TSG's first visit to Ireland! Fuelled by Guiness and sleep deprivation we have made our way through two gigs already.

First stop was Sean's Bar (where I write this from now); the oldest pub in the world! A diverse range of nationalities were on board to make the evening a drink-dance-drink-dance kind of night - just the kind we like! We followed this the next day with a gig at "The Local". Despite the name, we played again to both an Irish and European audience, more Guiness was consumed and more friends were made.

Today we are chilling with yet more Guiness and looking forward to playing Athlone Festival tomorrow, hoping we can beat the questionable Irish weather!

Attached for your amusement is a visual introduction blog-style to Ben Bass...

Until next time...

YOU made it easy

Good morn/evening/night one and all!

It has been a few weeks since brother Ellis enlightened everyone with the current activities of the band so I thought I would check in to see what’s up and to let you know a few things.

First off, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who has shown us so much love and support for our music and for our progress. It is indescribable to know that our music is reaching people all over the world and that through various communication channels we are able to speak with, share with and even meet people that know us before we know them. For us it is just the beginning of the creation of a whole network of friends, positive souls and music lovers in every corner of our great planet. We welcome friends old and new and remain confident and excited at the thought that we will get to connect with each and every one of you at some point in the near time.

Secondly, we had an awesome time touring in May and June road-testing some of our new sounds around the country and it could not have ended more aptly than with the fun that we had at our Borderline show in London. To have people singing our words is a powerful thing and it spurs us on tremendously. Thankyou so much J.

And so thirdly we look ahead… There are many massively exciting things brewing at Two Spot HQ. We are once again stretching our gaze overseas and will be touching down for the first time in Ireland at the end of the month as well as a visit to France and some of the rest of Europe around September time. Of course we will also be making our way back over the Atlantic Ocean to visit our dear friends in the United States and we obviously cannot wait to share more songs from our Second album – ‘The Sun Will Rise’.

Stay on this frequency for more updates, pictures, videos, podcasts and more and if you haven’t already make sure you check out all things Gobi at our new look web address…

The last thing of all that I have to say at this time to you, dear reader, is that on this creative adventure into the unknown space, there are many new bridges to build, dreams to live, oceans to cross, words to write and hurdles to hurdle. Know that with your love and friendship we can only grow stronger and with your light, the fires in our bellies burn brighter.

Mark Twain said that the truly great people in life are the people that make you feel that you too can become great. With this in mind I can say with absolute conviction, from myself and behalf of my dear Gobi brothers, that YOU make it easy!

Jersey

Hello hello!

This is Matt/Schmittles here reporting in for the horn contingent!

So we just about made it over to Jersey - an unfortunate set of circumstances (by which I really mean us being slack with time!) led us to cut it VERY fine for the ferry. A stressful way to start our trip!

We made our way to the Watersplash where everybody was in fine spirits and proceeded to blast out some summertime tunes to suit the weather. A highlight of the set included me getting heavily involved in a mid-song pileup on the dance floor!

Today has pretty much been taken up with surfing and binge eating (both regular TSG past times) and we plan for tomorrow to be the same!

We are very excited about some amazing pictures we took yesterday evening, and about the new T-shirt designs we have just finalised. They will be available on the tour.

So until next time, keep spreading the love!
